PROJECT SAMUEL

Revolutionizing additive manufacturing through industrial intelligence

November 2022: The SAMUEL project concludes successfully and receives an award from ITEA for the quality of its management and outcomes.

The project aimed to transform additive manufacturing by combining industrial expertise with artificial intelligence tools and platforms connecting suppliers and customers. The goal was to make additive manufacturing more accessible, reduce costs, and maximize part quality.

Objectives and Innovations

SAMUEL is based on the idea that a company’s experience in 3D printing is reflected in the parts it produces, and that this knowledge can be leveraged to optimize future manufacturing. The project delivered:

  • A matchmaking platform connecting customers and suppliers based on production experience, while protecting intellectual property.

  • An advanced geometric search tool for 3D models to capitalize on historical data.

  • Orientation optimization and part-recognition tools to improve every print job.
